Abstract
Als Basis fur die vorliegende Arbeit dient das Untersuchungsgebiet Toronto als Stadt, welche im englischsprachigen Raum auch als City of Toronto bekannt ist. Ausgangspunkt ist primar eine Trichotomie in das Thema Stadtgeographie als theoretisch und literarisch fundiertes Basiswissen, gefolgt vom kulturgenetischen Stadttypus der angloamerikanischen Stadt sowie einer genaueren historischen und soziokulturellen Entwicklung der Stadt Toronto als abgeschlossener urbaner Bereich. Anschliesend folgt eine Synthese der zuvor genannten Einzelteile und die Umlegung des zuvor erarbeiteten literarischen sowie lokalen Wissens mittels einer Analyse stadtgeographischer Entwicklungen, welche Konvergenzen und Divergenzen im Modell der angloamerikanischen Stadt inkludiert. Den Abschluss bilden Zukunftskonzepte, sowie –planungen, welche die wissenschaftliche Arbeit abrunden.
