Abstract
The paper focuses on the characteristics of Canada as a multicultural society, as well as on the peculiarities of tourists arriving to Holguin from this country. The analysis of the list of Canadian visitors arriving to this destination, supported by a survey, proved that multiculturalism is a common fact among tourists coming from this nation. This evidence suggests that ethnic groups bearing different social and cultural characteristics demand as well, the establishment of exclusive service and sales strategies which may match particular needs and expectations of each group. The acceptance of this assessment also presupposes the changing of theoretical foundations for the training of future tourism professionals.
