Abstract
The objective of this course is to analyze and discuss the ways in which veterinarians have practised in the past and how the results of the Canadian and American studies on the future of the veterinary profession will impact on the way in which they must practise in the future to thrive and prosper. Upon completion of the course, learners will understand the evolution of veterinary practices from the past to the present, and how they must change the way in which they practise, if they are to remain competitive and succeed in the future. They will understand what the concept of a “Bond-Centred Practice” is and why it is the key to survival and success in veterinary practice. Veterinarians will learn the changes that are necessary to ensure that their practices become Bond-Centred. Topics Covered: Outline of Past Management Techniques; Understanding the CVMA Report: Opportunities for Renewal: Selection, Education, Remuneration, Lifestyle; Analysis of the U.S. MegaStudy: Supply of Veterinarians, Global Demand, Delivery Systems, Women in the Profession, Skills, Knowledge, Aptitude and Attitude, Veterinary Incomes; Redefining “The Bond”; Why the Concept of The Bond is Important; How to Build a Bond-Centred Practice. You must be a veterinarian to take this course. It is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Cost: $30 for CVMA members, $60 for non-members.
