Abstract
L’attention et le traitement du contexte constituent deux fonctions cognitives indispensables au comportement humain. D’un côté, l’attention soutient la réalisation d’une activité réflexive et permet, par conséquent, l’adaptation à de nouvelles situations. De l’autre, le traitement du contexte est essentiel pour l’adaptation flexible des comportements. Ainsi, un déficit attentionnel impacte les autres fonctions cognitives et qu’un dysfonctionnement du traitement des informations contextuelles engendre des déficits comportementaux et sociaux. Ces derniers sont observés chez les individus présentant un trouble de la personnalité psychopathique. Dans cet article, basé sur une revue de la littérature, le modèle du déficit de modulation de la réponse sera développé. Ce modèle permet de comprendre les difficultés attentionnelles et de traitement du contexte chez les individus atteints du trouble de personnalité psychopathique. L’importance de ces concepts dans la psychopathie sera également soulignée.
