Abstract
L’économie de marché fait appel à une rationalité unilatérale qui se préoccupe peu, en général, de ses effets négatifs sur certains groupes sociaux ou certaines régions. Il en va ainsi des régions paysannes des cinq pays du sud de la CÉE; certains espaces sont marginalisés au point que l’on peut craindre pour leur viabilité. Après avoir résumé les principales transformations subies par ces territoires au cours des dernières années, l’auteur analyse les enjeux d’un développement qui demeure profondément inégal et s’interroge sur les possibilités de réussite d’un modèle de développement qui s’articule à la volonté de résistance du milieu.
