Abstract
La figure du community manager occupe désormais une position notable dans les discours professionnels relatifs aux domaines de la communication et du marketing. Cet article propose d’établir un parallèle avec les travaux qui ont pu être consacrés, dans les années 2000, à une autre figure professionnelle alors en pleine visibilité, celle du téléconseiller, à l’œuvre dans le cadre des stratégies de gestion de la relation client. À l’aide de données issues d’entretiens semi-directifs menés auprès de professionnels et d’étudiants en communication, il s’agit ici de mettre en évidence le glissement du champ professionnel de la médiation entreprise-public, d’une perspective individuelle déjà complexe et adaptée à l’échange téléphonique, à une vision ajoutant les opportunités ouvertes par les réseaux numériques en ce qui concerne l’hybridité de formats et de pratiques.
