La prosa densa, el flujo de la conciencia que informa la poesia de Anne Carson (Canada, 1950) es el equivalente literario a instalarnos en la mente de otra persona, que no es otra que la propia Carson, mientras reparamos en las idas y venidas de sus pensamientos, en los temores tras de sus ojos. La cercania de ese personaje, la propia autora, invita a nuestra comprension de los que nos rodean. Eso hace que su poesia sea tan absorbente. La familiaridad es una prueba de la habilidad con la que estan escritas unas composiciones que, en unos cuantos versos, logran captar con precision la naturaleza de ciertas personas: ciertos rasgos, manias y maneras que no son sino las nuestras; otras vidas, otros mundos, tan parecidos a este.
