Abstract
Pourquoi cette volonté de réduire les objets qui existent dans la société, aux grilles d’analyse conceptuelle qu’on est amené, à leur propos, à élaborer ? Très vite ce n’est plus l’objet — proliférant, vivant, ambigu — qui désigne la théorie pertinente mais la grille se pensant omnisciente qui prétend désigner ce qui est digne du titre d’« objet ». Ce n’est plus le monde, autrement dit, qui suscite la nécessité de la carte mais l’empire de la carte qui délimite le monde à considérer. Ce renversement entre la pensée et le réel est dû au fait que le penseur veut expliquer de haut son objet, et ceci d’autant plus qu’il s’y sent impliqué. Il y est juge et partie. L’explication, en ce sens, est un coup de force exercé sur l’objet afin de s’expliquer à tout prix hors de lui. Le désir de neutralité soutient cet effort mais il est de plus en plus illusoire. N’est-il pas préférable, dans ces conditions, d’expliciter plutôt qu’expliquer, en admettant et en révélant l’implication dans laquelle on se trouve, quoi qu’on fasse ? En acceptant sa position toute relative et subjective ? Peut-être... Mais l’explication, elle aussi, a ses limites et ses contraintes de sorte qu’il faudrait, à la fois, pouvoir expliquer et expliciter, pouvoir s’expliquer et s’impliquer.
