This paper presents a comprehensive harmonic analysis of the interleaved voltage source converters based on different carrier configurations. The impact of carrier configurations on the interleaved three-level (3L) converters is also investigated. The relationship among the harmonics in line-to-line voltage, common mode voltage (CMV), and circulating current is identified for interleaved two-level converters. By extending the analysis and generalizing the tri-carrier (TC) configuration to 3L converters, two new carrier configurations are obtained, which can be applied in single or interleaved 3L converters. The new methods provide extra tradeoffs for system designs.
