Abstract
« Pourquoi des poètes en ce temps de détresse épistémologique des sciences sociales ? » Telle pourrait être, paraphrasant Hölderlin, l’interrogation-amorce de cet article qui propose quelques pistes de réflexions en ce sens à partir du spectacle-performance de l’ethnomusicologue et artiste italienne Giovanna Marini. Celle-ci, depuis quelques années maintenant, et sur plusieurs scènes d’Europe et d’Amérique, se transforme en cantastorie , en raconteuse-chanteuse, qui tente de faire revivre, à travers le récit et la musique, le quotidien des petites gens de l’Italie « profonde » que sa « pratique de terrain » lui a appris à connaître. À travers l’« exemple » de G. Marini, l’article aborde un certain nombre de thèmes au coeur de la pratique et du discours des sciences humaines : la socialité , l’ interprétation , la formalisation . Il interroge la violence qu’exerce souvent sur le réel une entreprise scientifique en bonne partie née de l’Inquisition. Les sciences sociales, suggère-t-il, peuvent être autre chose que des « sciences auxiliaires de la police » — à condition de se faire complices du clin d’oeil du poète, comme en écho à ce « rire de Dieu » dont parlait Kundera...
