Ante los bajos resultados en las competencias linguisticas obtenidos por estudiantes de primero primaria en las ultimas pruebas censales del Ministerio de Educacion Nacional, el presente estudio se propuso evidenciar como la practica textual desde la narrativa consolida la construccion de dichas competencias. La muestra esta compuesta por 25 estudiantes (14 ninas y 11 ninos) de primero de primaria, quienes dejaron registros orales y escritos de su participacion en las intervenciones de practica textual desde la narrativa. Dichos registros fueron categorizados y analizados a la luz de las teorias linguisticas de Tolchinsky (1993), Ferreiro y Teberosky (1979), recomendadas por los Lineamientos Curriculares de Lengua Castellana. De este modo, se evidenciaron los avances de los ninos y ninas en su proceso de construccion de las competencias linguisticas. Asi, este estudio permitira, de una parte, confirmar o no los resultados de investigaciones precedentes y, de otro lado, aportar pistas pedagogicas para avanzar en el mejoramiento de las competencias linguisticas del estudiantado de primero de primaria.
