Abstract

Sabe-se que o consumo de substâncias psicoativas entre as mulheres apresenta fatores predisponentes, mantenedores e consequências diferentes do que entre os homens. A violência doméstica entre parceiros íntimos, além de ser um problema grave e com alta incidência entre a população feminina, representa um dos principais fatores associados à dependência química na mulher. A partir de revisão de literatura, foi verificado o cenário nacional e internacional atual dos impactos da violência doméstica entre mulheres usuárias de drogas. Verificouse a urgência de programas de prevenção à violência doméstica e de atenção psicossocial e especializada às crianças e mulheres que sofreram esse tipo de violência, tendo em vista prevenir o uso abusivo de substâncias como forma desadaptativa de manejar o sofrimento decorrente da violência. Assim, concluiu-se que o histórico de violência doméstica deve ser investigado em toda avaliação e tratamento de mulheres dependentes de substâncias, e a interrupção da violência e a proteção da mulher devem ser prioridades no projeto terapêutico.
