Abstract
Lokakarya diselenggarakan oleh “nitrogen Fixing Three Association” (NFTA) dan Winrock International. Peserta lokakarya adalah peneliti dan atau pejabat dari Amerika Serikat, Australia, Canada, Filipina, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Muangthai, Tonga, Puerto Rico, Samoa dan Thaiwan, yaitu Negara-negara yang mengalami musibah serangan kutu loncat lamtoro. Peserta dari Indonesia yang paling banyak jumlahnya, yaitu 2 orang dari badan Litbang, 2 orang dari Direktorat Jenderal perkebunan dan 6 orang dari NTT. Tujuan lokakarya adalah untuk menghimpun, mereview dan menganalisis informasi tentang serangan Heteropsylla di Asia dan Pasifik. Dari pembahasan informasi dirumuskan cara mengatasi dan strategi penelitiannya. Pada dasarnya Lokakarya bertujuan membahas pengendalian Heteropsylla secara biologi dan genetic dari sudut pandang ilmu dan kebijaksanaan. Sehubungan dengan itu, tulisan ini menyajikan aspek pengendalian biologis, pengendalian genetic dan kebijaksanaan dalam rangka pengendalian hama kutu loncat lamtoro.
