Abstract
Este estudo apresenta algumas considerações a respeito da discussão posta atualmente sobre a finalidade da educação infantil. Evidencia e questiona, também, a concepção e a percepção dos profissionais que atuam nessa área sobre essa etapa de ensino, acerca do que se parte do pressuposto segundo o qual esses docentes, de modo geral, conservam uma concepção tradicional e desconhecem a verdadeira finalidade dessa fase da educação. Com base nesse pressuposto, desenvolve uma pesquisa com o objetivo de investigar a percepção das professoras de Cáceres e Região sobre a educação infantil. Palavras-chave: Educação infantil.
