Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

In this paper, we show that the analysis of right-node-raising (RNR) in coordinate struc-tures proposed in Sarkar and Joshi (1996) can be extended to non-local RNR if it is aug-mented with delayed tree locality (Chiang and Scheffler, 2008), but not with flexible com-position (Joshi et al., 2003). In the proposed delayed tree-local analysis, we define multi-component (MC) elementary tree sets with contraction set specification. We propose that a member of each of the MC sets participates in forming a derivational unit called contrac-tion path in the derivation structure, and that contraction paths must be derivationally local to each other for the relevant contraction to be licensed. 1

Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
