Abstract
In this paper, the author argues that Gay-Straight Alliance (GSA) policy documents in Alberta re-produce white settler colonial discourse (Greensmith & Giwa, 2013) through heteronormative and homonormative language and assumptions (Duggan, 2008; Puar, 2007; Sykes, 2011). The author utilizes a critical discourse analysis methodology (Van Dijk, 2001) through an anticolonial feminist theoretical lens (Mendoza, 2016) to analyze three documents from Alberta (ATA, 2004; Wells, 2006; Wells, n.d.).
