Abstract
Le Bureau d’aménagement de l’Est du Québec a élaboré un vaste plan de développement d’une région défavorisée du Québec, caractérisée par l’importance accordée à l’animation sociale, à l’éducation populaire, à la participation des populations. L’article met en évidence le caractère intégrateur de l’idéologie de développement mise de l’avant par le B.A.E.Q., des stratégies d’implantation de politiques modernisatrices pour le territoire concerné. L’article rapporte également les témoignages de dépossession culturelle de représentants de la population soumise à l’offensive d’aménagement du B.A.E.Q.
