Abstract
Embarcándonos en las estadísticas de la geosalud de la infancia en el mundo, recurrimos al tiquete de los organismos especializados como UNICEF y los elementos a abordar son la tasa de mortalidad en los menores de 5 años (TMM5), tasa de mortalidad infantil (< 1 año) y la tasa de mortalidad neonatal. Como inicio Ecuador exhibe para el año 2009 tasas de 24-20-11 x 1000 nacidos vivos (nv) respectivamente (tabla N° 1) y para ese mismo año Argentina 14-13-8, Chile 9-7-5, Estados Unidos 8-7-4. Siendo la situación más crítica en Chad 209-124-45 x 1000 nv. Mientras que lo mejor, entre otros pocos afortunados lo ocupa Japón 3-2-1 x 1000 nv.
