La thématique de la médiation numérique s’est développée ces dernières années dans les discours professionnels des bibliothécaires. Il s’agit ici de prendre en compte les changements majeurs apportés par le numérique à la construction et à la diffusion des savoirs et des savoir-faire. La médiation numérique des savoirs vise à favoriser la rencontre entre des informations et des personnes par des dispositifs opérationnels au sein d’une démarche orientée vers ce qui constitue des enjeux de politiques publiques à l’ère du numérique. Parallèlement, dans le secteur culturel, les outils du marketing sont de mieux en mieux connus et appliqués au sein du secteur public. Bien loin de se réduire à la simple fonction publicitaire, le marketing constitue une stratégie visant à ajuster l’offre aux besoins et aux attentes des clients potentiels, à en assurer pertinemment la distribution et la promotion, puis à faire en sorte que cette offre est perçue comme une offre de qualité par les usagers. Est-ce dire alors que la mise en oeuvre d’un dispositif de médiation numérique des savoirs s’inscrit dans une démarche de marketing public ? Quelles sont les différences et les complémentarités entre ces deux concepts opérationnels bien distincts ?
