Après la publication en 1809 de ses Recherches sur l’essence de la liberté humaine , Schelling s’attelle pendant plusieurs années à l’impossible projet des Âges du monde . Les deux démarches ont en commun une mise en récit de la naissance de l’Absolu hors de lui-même et l’angoisse qui l’accompagne. Après avoir exposé l’éternelle vie de l’Absolu, caractérisée par un désir angoissé vers l’être, je lie à l’angoisse la dimension narrative et l’anthropomorphisme assumé de ces écrits. Je termine en questionnant le statut mythique du récit que fait Schelling.
