Le présent acte propose une réflexion sur les concepts utilisés par les historiens pour étudier la pensée cosmogonique de l’Égypte ancienne. Après avoir examiné quelques grandes catégories qui ont servi à définir la pensée du Proche-Orient ancien, la pertinence des concepts utilisés pour théoriser la pensée cosmogonique égyptienne sera questionnée. Est-ce que ces concepts nous permettent effectivement de percevoir la vision qu’avaient les acteurs qui l’ont émise ? Nous verrons que ce sont les concepts se dégageant des sources mêmes qui sont les plus propices à nous rendre compréhensible la cosmogonie égyptienne.
