Cet article évoque différentes initiatives musicales institutionnelles prises lors de la vague de protestation qui a agité les universités sud-africaines en 2015 et 2016. Il considère différents types de réponses – structurelles, archivistiques et événementielles – apportées à ce moment de crise de l’enseignement supérieur sud-africain, et prend l’exemple de l’Université de Stellenbosch, dans la province du Cap occidental (Afrique du Sud), pour illustrer la manière dont des approches institutionnellement innovantes pour l’enseignement de la musique à l’université pourraient contribuer à répondre aux demandes de transformation décoloniale de l’université sud-africaine portées par les étudiants.
