Abstract
Indigenous entrepreneurship and enterprise development is one mechanism to help address many of the economic and social challenges faced by these groups. Indigenous people often identify as sovereign nations living within the boundaries of other nations, whether or not this is acknowledged by the larger nation. The intra-national nature of indigenous communities, who live as nations within nations, creates a number of unique distinctions for businesses being operated by these communities. This paper represents arguments for including the concepts and theories from International Business to progress research involving Indigenous contexts.
