Abstract
Depuis 30 ans, le système scolaire québécois s’est ouvert à la perspective interculturelle. Sous l’influence des courants migratoires et de la promotion de la diversité, tant le ministère de l’Éducation que des organismes publics et parapublics ont défendu l’idée de développer à l’école une compétence à s’intéresser à l’Autre, à le comprendre et à le respecter avec toutes ses différences, dans un esprit de tolérance ; d’où la nécessité d’un dialogue interculturel basé sur l’analyse et l’interprétation des valeurs avec un oeil relativisant. Les diverses disciplines scolaires en ont été touchées, dans leurs objectifs socioculturels de formation des jeunes. Le cas de l’enseignement du français, tant comme langue première que comme langue seconde, nous intéresse particulièrement, car il a été le premier à accorder de l’importance à la perspective interculturelle et continue à le faire.
