Largement implantée en Europe et non pas seulement en France, la pratique de la philosophie à l’école élémentaire, originaire des Etats-Unis, a aussi conquis au-delà de l’Europe, le Brésil, le Mexique, l’Argentine, le Canada et bien d’autres pays encore. Au regard de cet incontestable essor, l’initiateur de cet engouement, Matthew Lipman, peut estimer que l’idée de «communauté de recherche philosophique » , mise en place avec son équipe de travail a fait des émules. La présente contribution aborde les questions suivantes : Comment cela a-t-il été possible ? Qui est Lipman ? Que lui devons-nous ? Où en sommes-nous dans l’application et l’évaluation de ses idées ?
