Abstract
Cette étude constitue une analyse des relations entre le mythe et l'histoire dans Le Seigneur des Anneaux . Après une présentation de la notion de « pertinence », nous proposons une interprétation de deux chapitres du roman, où le mythe apparaît comme une expérience donnée à ressentir aux lecteurs et, en même temps, comme une prise de conscience de ce qu’est le mythe, par la présence de légendes devenant réelles et d’événements réels sur le point de devenir légendes.
