Abstract
Cet article a pour objectif d’analyser les caractéristiques politiques et sociales de la participation électorale lors des élections législatives de 2015 en Egypte. L’abstention très élevée est riche en significations politiques. Elle est un indice du mécontentement des électeurs vis-à-vis du régime actuel et elle exprime le désarroi d’une partie importante de son propre électorat qui, pourtant une année auparavant, lui était très favorable. De même l’article met en exergue les spécificités socio-économiques et spatiales de la participation électorale effective : ce sont les classes moyennes supérieures éduquées et âgées du milieu rural qui se sont le plus mobilisées.
