Abstract
Je me propose d’analyser et de comparer les textes officiels concernant l’enseignement du français à l’école primaire au Québec et en France. Après une rapide mise en perspective historique, je m’attacherai à montrer en quoi les programmes du début du XXIe constituent la littérature ou la lecture littéraire comme nouveau contenu d’enseignement apprentissage. Le corpus littéraire est (re) devenu un élément nodal et constitutif de la discipline français au primaire. Au-delà des enjeux éducatifs, les objectifs de ces programmes la reconfigurent en visant la formation d’un lecteur critique de textes littéraires dès le primaire. Je m’attacherai à montrer comment les programmes français et québécois envisagent le problème du corpus et la définition de la compréhension/ interprétation qui sont en jeu à travers ces choix. Les enjeux idéologiques sont forts comme en témoignent les polémiques dont ils sont l’objet et que relaient les médias. Enfin je réfléchirai sur la caractérisation en creux du rôle du professeur de français et le profil idéal du lecteur scolaire dessiné par ces programmes et leurs accompagnements.
