Abstract
À travers l’analyse du château de Monte-Cristo, cet article permet de réfléchir au croisement de différentes échelles au sein d’un même travail historique. Nous cherchons à faire ressortir les apports d’une approche à la fois micro et macro-historique. Plus concrètement, nous nous pencherons sur l’intégration et sur l’interprétation de la situation socioculturelle internationale française d’Alexandre Dumas à Monte-Cristo (1844-1849). Notre réflexion se concentrera sur l’intégration des mouvements orientalistes et romantiques, mais aussi d’une culture européenne « commune » chez le célèbre écrivain.
