Abstract
La complexité de l’état d’ennui s’exprime d’abord par la différence des vocables qui le désignent d’une langue à l’autre. De ce socle, l’article reprend la question de l’ennui comme un affect de couverture, témoignant à la fois d’un aspect conflictuel et d’un aspect traumatique. L’enjeu des moments de transition dans l’émergence de l’ennui est souligné. La matrice de la scène primitive est posée comme source infantile de l’ennui. L’ennui concerne l’analyste selon le registre de la méthode, celui du contre-transfert et celui de la structure psychique dans les cas où l’ennui est une défense de caractère.
