Abstract
Ausgehend von den Resultaten einer Forschung über obdachlose Jugendliche in Montreal, empfiehlt dieser Artikel, laut Axel Honneth, eine Verschiebung des soziologischen Blickwinkels auf die Problematiken der sozialen Ausgrenzung. Der Artikel rät stärker auf die Subjektivität der Individuen zu achten und eher Lösungen der Identitätsanerkennung als solche der sozioökonomische Umverteilung einzubeziehen. Er zielt darauf ab, die Bedeutung der Mittel der Sozialarbeit hervorzuheben, welche es Personen ermöglichen ihren Platz in der Gesellschaft einzunehmen. Dies soll dazu führen, dass Bedingungen der Anerkennung, welche im Kampf gegen soziale Ausgrenzung als Grundlage dienen, besser eingeschätzt werden können.
