Abstract
Este artigo centra sua reflexão na estrutura elementar da significação, ou quadrado semiótico, comopostulada por Algirdas Julien Greimas, com especial atenção às relações que estruturam esse modelo, para apartir daí propor uma leitura crítica e, na medida do pertinente, comparativa de pontos específicos de teoriasdesenvolvidas por três outros autores: Aristóteles, o filósofo grego, Robert Blanché, filósofo francês estruturalistado século XX, e Claude Zilberberg, semioticista francês que trabalha hoje desenvolvendo a teoria semióticatensiva. Apesar de produzidos sob paradigmas disciplinares distintos e, portanto, incomensuráveis, é possívelidentificar nos textos escolhidos pontos de contato, remissão e interlocução. Juntos, eles formam o pano defundo sobre o qual procuraremos discernir o que se pode entender hoje como herança e transformação doquadrado semiótico.
