Michel Foucault.Le Québec d'aujourd'hui était autrefois occupé par les algonquins, les hurons et les iroquois.En 1534 l'explorateur Jacques Cartier arrive à la péninsule de Gaspé et prend alors possession du Canada, au nom du roi de France, François 1er.La colonisation de la Nouvelle France commence avec Samuel de Champlain et la ville de Québec est fondée en 1608.À cette époque, une colonie de dix-mille français viennent de toutes les provinces de France, mais la majorité est originaire de Normandie et de l'ouest du pays.De ce fait, la plupart des hommes français arrivés à la Nouvelle France avaient de bonnes connaissances des techniques agricoles.Ils se caractérisent aussi par leur foi catholique.Bien qu'il soit trop tôt pour parler d'une production littéraire de la Nouvelle France, on se retrouve dans la période où Richelieu fonde l'Académie Française à l'époque de Corneille en 1635.Il faut noter quand même que la Nouvelle France connaît les récits de voyage des explorateurs et les écrits des missionnaires jésuites 1 .1.1.Le Canada anglophone-francophone: Le Royaume-Uni et la France Un fait important à souligner est que l'histoire du Canada d'un point de vue anglophone et francophone se caractérise par des éléments historiques
