Abstract
Dans le cadre de notre recherche qui relève de l’ethnométhodologie, nous avons été amenée à nous interroger sur la posture épistémologique sous-jacente à notre démarche. Si des auteurs affirment que les sciences sociales sont nécessairement compréhensives et relèvent d’un autre paradigme que les sciences de la nature, un détour par l’anthropologie montre que ce point de vue n’est pas partagé. Les typologies des paradigmes épistémologiques englobent sous une même étiquette des perspectives et postures très différentes. Ainsi, l’ethnométhodologie est assimilée à une microsociologie, ce qu’elle n’est pas. L’ethnométhodologie est avant tout une praxéologie, qui conduit à respécifier les concepts et, pour ce faire, met en place des critères de rigueur scientifique. Est précisé le positionnement de l’ethnométhodologie aux niveaux ontologique, épistémologique et méthodologique.
