Abstract
Le système de santé québécois fait face à de nombreux défis, notamment en ce qui a trait au vieillissement de la population, à la baisse des ressources médicales et à la volonté sociale de mourir dans la dignité. Il apparaît donc souhaitable de développer de nouveaux services pour une expérience de soins plus humaine où l’environnement physique et émotionnel est considéré. Toutefois, les processus qui visent l’amélioration de cette expérience sont peu connus et certains croient que les approches du design permettraient des soins plus humains et ce, par des approches collaboratives. Le souci de construire pour et avec les individus touchés par ce type de problématique sociale renvoie à une certaine éthique de la sollicitude (éthique du care ) où être juste correspond à un « prendre soin » des autres. L’article propose donc un cadre de réflexion autour de la notion de « care », mais surtout autour de la notion de participation afin d’explorer le rôle que tient le design dans l’élaboration de services en milieu de soins.
