Identification d’un fer de faux droite à coupe latérale gallo-romain à Alésia (Côte-d’Or) : une découverte importante

Abstract
Une campagne de restauration a permis de rapprocher trois fragments de fer de faux trouvés en 1908 lors de la fouille de la crypte d’un édifice de type schola dit « Monument d’Ucuetis » sur le site de l’agglomération gallo-romaine d’Alésia, dans un contexte d’enfouissement du IIIe siècle. Ce rapprochement permet de restituer un fer de faux droite à faible courbure et à coupe latérale d’1,30 m de longueur, doté d’un tenon de fixation du manche incliné, et de fabrication particulière. En l’état des connaissances, c’est le seul exemplaire de ce type de faux, qui peut être considéré comme archéologiquement complet, identifié en Gaule.
