Abstract
Jumlah penumpang, barang dan jasa transportasi udara di Indonesia menunju kkan angka dan grafik yang terus meningkat. Dalam perkembangannya, pada awal tahun 2003 kapasitas Bandar Udara Internasional Adisutjipto sudah mulai dirasakan tidak layak, maka dengan latar belakang di atas maka penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kualitalif. Dengan pendekatan tersebut maka didapatkan Respon pengguna jasa penerbangan di Bandar Udara Internasional menunjukan 71% setuju bila bandara Jogja dipindahkan ke daerah Kulon Progo dikarenakan 89% dari responden memberikan respons bahwa lokasi Bandar Udara Internasional Adisutjipto sudah tidak layak lagi untuk menampung jumlah penumpang yang ada di bandara tersebut. Ketidaklayakan daya tampung disebabkan oleh meningkatnya jumlah pengguna jasa penerbangan dari tahun ke tahun
