Abstract

Au moment où la crise économique s’approfondit, des centres de formation pour chômeurs axés sur la remise à niveau des connaissances font leur apparition. Après une présentation de ces centres, des hypothèses de travail permettent d’interroger et d’en comprendre le projet pédagogique en fonction des objectifs du public, du statut qu’y occupent les formateurs et des contraintes institutionnelles qui constituent l’environnement de ceux-ci. Si l’action des centres de formation pour chômeurs apparaît comme un créneau en pleine phase de constitution, ils oscillent entre trois modèles d’action et d’organisation qui renvoient soit au travail social, soit à l’enseignement, soit à la lutte sociale. Cette oscillation tient compte tant des modèles théoriques auxquels se réfèrent les agents porteurs du projet que des organisations qui les encadrent.
