Abstract

fetched live from OpenAlex

The Science without borders program was created aiming to reduce the distance between the Brazilian universities and the most prestigious foreign universities, through the students’ mobility to other countries. This federal program needs to be evaluated so that the community has a return and learn what it has been done by these fellows abroad. The aim of this work is to report the academic and extra-academic experiences acquired by four students of the Science without Borders Program during their period studying abroad. In this way, we seek a critical look at the program and how it has helped in the professional formation and improved the citizen vision of the students who are contemplated. Four students from UFSM, campus Frederico Westphalen, were selected by the Science without Borders program to do the sandwich under graduation abroad. The students have studied at universities in Italy, Germany and Australia for a period of 12 to 18 months. During the period abroad, fellows attended language courses, undergraduate courses at universities and performed internships. Experience provides ineffable learning that can contribute to the pursuit of academic excellence in Brazil, by sharing these experiences with teachers and classmates. Having an international experience in the academic and professional resume will definitely stand out among the rest in an extremely competitive job market. Study abroad, mostly still during under graduation is set between the most exciting and enriching experiences for any undergraduate student. Keywords : Academic mobility, Sandwich undergraduate program, Exchange. Not calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)

The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.

Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
