Abstract
Dans cet article, l’auteure démontre comment les effets de lumière, le choix des teintes, les lignes épurées, ainsi que les atmosphères du style du peintre Lawren Harris entre les années 1921 et 1931 sont traduits en musique par Harry Freedman et Michel Longtin. Ainsi, pour «Blue Mountain», le premier mouvement d’Images (1958), Harry Freedman trouve son inspiration dans le tableau Lake and Mountains de Harris. Quant à lui, Michel Longtin est inspiré par «Au Nord du lac Supérieur» pour le sixième mouvement de son œuvre Pohjatuuli, hommage à Sibelius (1983).
