Com o crescente aumento do uso dos documentos digitais nas empresas publicas e privadas, nas bibliotecas, arquivos e museus, surge cada vez mais a preocupacao em como esses documentos estao sendo preparados para serem recuperados, e se essa recuperacao e possivel agora no presente e se sera possivel no futuro, com as inovacoes tecnologicas e mudancas em softwares, hardwares e nos suportes informacionais.
