Abstract
L'objectif principal de la présente étude est d'identifier les origines et les sources de la surqualification des travailleurs issus du réseau scolaire québécois uvrant dans la région métropolitaine de Montréal. L'étude vise à identifier les principaux « foyers » de la surqualification, soit les domaines de compétence, les secteurs industriels et les programmes d'étude qui sont à risque d'engendrer davantage ce phénomène et de tenter de dégager les causes principales qui expliquent cette surqualification. Il s'agit ensuite de formuler des recommandations de politiques publiques en vue d'améliorer l'utilisation des compétences existantes et/ou d'ajuster l'appareil de formation afin de l'arrimer aux besoins du marché du travail. Selon les raisons qui expliquent la surqualification, ses effets sur le marché du travail et les stratégies pour y remédier, notamment en matière de formation, peuvent différer fortement dans un contexte de resserrement démographique.
