En nous appuyant sur le travail effectué par Jacques Lacan à propos de James Joyce et de son œuvre Finnegans wake, nous soutenons ici l’hypothèse que la création musicale a préservé Scelsi d’une folie dont on peut pressentir le souffle dans certains de ses écrits, en particulier dans la seconde partie d’Il ritorno. Cette menace qui pèse sur Scelsi et qui parfois ne l’épargne pas, se signe d’un rapport singulier au corps et au langage, littéraire aussi bien que musical. Nous envisagerons les choix esthétiques et techniques scelsiens dans cette perspective ainsi qu’à l’aune de la mystique syncrétique qu’il a progressivement élaborée et dans laquelle le son est simultanément voie vers la transcendance et manifestation de celle-ci ; et le compositeur, prophète, élu et passeur.
