Abstract
Five different samples of Gum Arabic and Carbon black (soot) composite material were prepared using solid state chemical method. The electrical properties of the composite were investigated by means of impedance spectroscopy measurement (IS), while the optical properties were investigated using Fourier transformation infrared (FTIR). The IS results showed that the composite was acquired room temperature electrical conductivity, which is lies with the semiconductors range. The change in the conductivity of Gum Arabic can be attributed to the carbon black atomic diffusion. Keywords: Atomic diffusion, electrical properties, Gum Arabic.
