Abstract
Este artigo tem como finalidade principal encetar uma discussão a respeito do fenômeno da retextualização, partindo do oral para o escrito, na perspectiva de Marcuschi (2010), para se chegar à retextualização entre textos escritos. Tendo como base teórica a Linguística Textual, este estudo caracteriza-se como essencialmente qualitativo, a partir da análise de um gênero que comumente emerge de um processo de retextualização na esfera jornalística: a carta do leitor. Nesse sentido, faz-se um cotejo entre um e-mail enviado pelo leitor do jornal e a sua respectiva publicação na forma de carta no Jornal do Commercio de Pernambuco. Os resultados evidenciam que diferentes operações são realizadas pelo editor do jornal, caracterizando a carta do leitor como um gênero retextualizado, ao mesmo tempo em que se devem considerar as relações de forças e o jogo de interesses aí subjacentes.
