L’article analyse le processus de concentration des médias et des activités convergentes tels que les télécommunications et l’Internet en Amérique latine, puisque ce processus constitue l’un des principaux percuteurs de l’adoption, par les différents gouvernements de la région, de nouvelles réglementations sur le sujet depuis une décennie. Tout en analysant la concentration des activités de production, de stockage, de distribution et d’exhibition d’information et communication, le texte caractérise les principaux conglomérats qui œuvrent dans la région, compare leur envergure économique et leurs principaux secteurs d’intervention. On présente aussi des indicateurs du processus de concentration qui contribuent à sa quantification.
