Plusieurs auteur.e.s envisagent la collaboration entre les familles immigrantes et l’école comme un facteur incontournable pour la réussite scolaire de l’élève. Peu de recherches ont porté sur les pratiques de communication mises en place par les deux parties. Des entrevues effectuées auprès de vingt-huit parents immigrants et de cinq enseignantes ont permis de mettre en lumière cette zone peu explorée. Il ressort des résultats que parents et enseignantes mobilisent des pratiques de communication qui varient selon le groupe, mais également selon les individus. De plus, différents facteurs influent sur ces pratiques. Il importe donc de saisir l’intention sous-jacente à leur mise en œuvre afin de mieux en comprendre les effets.
