Abstract
Le développement potentiel des activités d’exploitation des ressources minérales marines profondes nécessite de se poser, en amont, la question de leurs impacts sur les écosystèmes, et ce, afin de mieux pouvoir les prévenir, les limiter, voire de proposer des processus de mitigation et de restauration. L’évaluation de ces impacts potentiels reste encore très difficile en raison de notre manque de connaissances sur les méthodes d’exploitation qui seront mises en œuvre par les industriels et de connaissances fondamentales sur l’évaluation de la biodiversité, sur la compréhension de la dynamique et du fonctionnement des écosystèmes associés, mais aussi sur les couplages entre les eaux profondes et le reste de l’océan.
