Abstract
Réussir socialement lorsqu’on ne passe pas par les canaux institutionnalisés, formels et réguliers de l’éducation peut être synonyme de transgression des normes à l’heure où le savoir est hautement valorisé. La formation professionnelle, dans des sociétés où cette dernière consiste en une solution de repli quand les filières de formation plus prestigieuses s’avèrent inaccessibles, constitue dès lors un lieu d’observation privilégié des normes scolaires associées à une réussite sociale future. Cet article propose de montrer comment, du point de vue des jeunes, l’horizon d’une réussite sociale se traduit en normes scolaires immédiates instituées dans l’entourage. Il expose la manière dont ces normes s’impriment sur leur parcours et comment elles se répercutent sur leurs relations familiales pour moduler leurs modes d’entrée en formation professionnelle.
