Abstract
Cet article vise à étudier de quelle manière le corps autochtone féminin contribue à la réimagination de la souveraineté. Dans le cadre du féminisme autochtone, nous analysons le corps comme une zone de contact dans l’œuvre poétique de Natasha Kanapé Fontaine. Il s’agit d’identifier trois stratégies du corps – la dénonciation de la violence sexuelle et le contournement de l’Histoire officielle, l’affirmation de l’identité autochtone et la création de nouvelles relations – afin de souligner le rôle négociateur du corps dans la contestation d’une certaine pensée dominante au Canada. This article aims to study how the Indigenous female body contributes to re-imagining sovereignty. Within the framework of Indigenous feminism, we analyze the body as a contact zone in the poetic work of Natasha Kanapé Fontaine. We identify three strategies of the body – denouncing sexual violence and bypassing official History, re-affirming Indigenous identities, and creating new relations – in order to underline the negotiating role played by the body in contesting a certain kind of dominant thinking in Canada.
